Welcome!

Welcome to the UPCI Cult Blog! The United Pentecostal Church International is a group which presents itself as a Christian denomination, but, in fact, denies fundamental orthodox Christian teachings. Feel free to post your experiences with, observations of, or questions about the UPCI.

God bless you!

Forget fundamental "orthodox" Christian teachings. What are fundamental Christian teachings, as found in scripture?

For the Moderator:

Someday in Judgment, God will ask you why you thought that All his disciples disobeyed him when carrying out the great commission with respect the use of the name of Jesus in the place of the titles, Father Son and Holy Ghost.

Rather than preparing a rebuttal for me, if you plan to maintain your position, you better prepare your oral arguments for the Lord because The powerful name of Jesus (not because I say so, rather Acts 4:12)is the only name given under heaven whereby we must be saved.

How are you saved by a name? First, what are you being saved from? Our sins. What is the only remedy given in the new Testament for "remission of sins"? Baptism?

Gabriel, the angel told Joseph that the child should be called Jesus because he would save his people from their sins(Matthew 1:21). Hence, it was extremely important that he receive the right name as this is the name that through the medium of baptism, God, in taking into account what Jesus did on Calvary, would remit sins.

many formula, creeds, and otherwise, ideas, have been put forth as to how one accesses the forgiveness of sins. However, in the end, only what God has set forth, and what he disciples carried out, will matter.

With the most sincere honesty,
I beg of you to search the scriptures and please be obedient -your eternity is at stake.

I agree, That their isnt any other name given to us by which we can be saved. But I disagree with you gene, baptism does not remiss sins, only the shed blood of Jesus takes away our sins. The Bible tells us that without the shedding of blood there is no remission. of sins. Those are not my words but God word.

I was in that cult... its a cult because there is a charasmatic leader, belief they are the only ones "saved" (and God is going to torture everyone else), they keep people in line through use of fear, deception (I call it scriptural loopholes), and isolation. I mean if you check out the checklist of cults youll find UPC can check of over 90% of the list.. what defines a cult?

1. The group is focused on a living leader to whom members seem to display excessively zealous, unquestioning commitment.

2.The group is preoccupied with bringing in new members.

3. The group is preoccupied with making money.

4. Questioning, doubt, and dissent are discouraged or even punished.

5. Mind-numbing techniques (speaking in tongues, denunciation sessions, debilitating work routines) are used to suppress doubts about the group and its leader(s).

6. The leadership dictates sometimes in great detail how members should think, act, and feel (for example: leaders may prescribe what types of clothes to wear, how to discipline children, and so forth).

7. The group is elitist, claiming a special, exalted status for itself, its leader(s), and members (for example: the group and/or the leader has a special mission to save humanity).

8. The group has a polarized us-versus-them mentality, which causes conflict with the wider society.

9. The leadership induces guilt feelings in members in order to control them.

10. Members' subservience to the group causes them to cut ties with family and friends, and to give up personal goals and activities that were of interest before joining the group.

11. Members are expected to devote inordinate amounts of time to the group.

12. Members are encouraged or required to live and/or socialize only with other group members.

unfortunately all those in the upc cult who read what I say will probably be under the schizophrenic delusion that if i possibly even make ANY sense that its "demons" and that they should "stay off the internet to keep the demons out and never read or listen to anything not upc approved".. further keeping them wrapped in the cult mentality

If you want to call it a cult because they baptize in Jesus' name then you have to throw the apostles in that same cult. There are 6 baptisms in the Bible. One was when John baptized Jesus. The other 5 were the apostles baptizing new believers in the name of Jesus throughout the book of Acts. Not to be contrary to what Jesus said in Matthew 28:19 either. He said to baptize them in the NAME of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. He did not say speak these words " Father, Son, and Holy Spirit". He said baptize them in the Name of them. What is the name of the Father? Well ask Phillip. He asked Jesus to show them the Father in Jn ch5, and Jesus responded with "You have been with me 3 years and don't know? I am the Father". Also, Isaiah said he would be called the Everlasting Father. I don't think I need to argue what the name of the Son is. Jesus said he would go away but the comforter would be sent in his name. 10 days after Jesus said Mathew 28:19, Peter preached Acts 2:38. Was he disobeying Christ, or did he get the picture that you can't? Jesus is the Everlasting Father, and his Sprirt lives in me. He is the visible manifestation of God which is invisible and incommunicable (Phil. 2:6; Heb. 1:3; John 1:18; 14:9; 2 Cor. 4:4; 1 Tim. 3:16). “Image” here means more than “likeness,” which can be incidental and superficial.

Read Revelations 1:8-18 about John's vision of the one called the "First and the Last". God also told Isaiah the same thing about being the "First and the Last". Notice in Verse 12 of Rev ch 1 that John says he turned to find out who was speaking. He was expecting to see the same thing Isaiah saw when Isaiah has a similar vision, but was suprised to see Jesus. That's right. Jesus is God. The only God. He is not there keeping company with the Father and the Spirit. He is the Father, and he is the Spirit. He is the First and the Last.

You think Jesus name baptism makes it a cult, then keep ignoring the Word of God, because it is the only baptism taught in the Bible. Jesus' name itself means God our Savior. He is God, the only God. Keep praying to his Titles, I'll worship his Name.

I was the wife of a First United Pentecostal minister for 19 years. I know what goes on behind those closed doors. You are brainwashed into believing that everything the preacher says is coming from the mouth of god. I was a young divorced mother of a beautiful son. I was obedient and submissive and suffered physical and psychological abuse in that marriage. I went to Several pastors of our main church and of the sister churches. No one would help me, they all said that my husband is the master and I am the weaker vessel. I have written all of the horrible details over and over in my journal. Please, do not allow any of these people talk you into allowing harm to you or your children under the name of god. They have bible scripture to back everything up that they say is GODS WILL FOR YOUR LIFE. If you are suffering they say that there is a reason and god has something great for you. So you suffer, and suffer, and become depressed and want to commit suicide. I was not allowed to go to anyone outside of the church because "THEY" don't understand our beliefs. BULLSHIT!!! THAT ALONE IS INDICATIVE OF CULT RELIGIONS!! Sister Bollinboker KILLED herself in Georgia after suffering through a first united pentecostal indoctrination! She was a wonderful seemingly happy, caring and loving person. She was married to a First UPC minister too.

You actually think that we say that the UPC is a Cult religion JUST BECAUSE: cult because they baptize in Jesus' name???? OMG!!! You are so very BRAINWASHED!!! just like I was , just like "unknown" was!!! You won't see it until your child is abusd through the teachings of the man of God!! Or someone in your family that you love so very much suffers at the hand of the "MAN OF GOD" running your church!

I TOO lived, breathed and believed in this cult religion for 15 years with my whole heart and soul !!!! Be sure to read "unknown" s entry too.
THERE ARE MANY SERIOUS AND TRUTHFUL REASONS WHY THE FIRST UNITED PENTECOSTAL CHURCH OF AMERICA IS A CULT RELIGION.

Followers must obey the leader as he is speaking from the spirit of God.
Followers are not allow to disagree the man of God, their leader.
Followers feel they can never be "good enough".
The group/leader is always right.
The group/leader is the exclusive means of knowing "truth" or receiving validation, no other process of discovery is really acceptable or credible.
Whenever the group/leader is criticized or questioned it is characterized as "persecution".
Uncharacteristically stilted and seemingly programmed conversation and mannerisms, cloning of the group/leader in personal behavior.
Dependency upon the group/leader for problem solving, solutions, and definitions without meaningful reflective thought. A seeming inability to think independently or analyze situations without group/leader involvement.
Hyperactivity centered on the group/leader agenda, which seems to supersede any personal goals or individual interests.
A dramatic loss of spontaneity and sense of humor.

A SAFE RELIGIOUS GROUP:
A safe group/leader will answer your questions without becoming judgmental and punitive.
A safe group/leader will disclose information such as finances and often offer an independently audited financial statement regarding budget and expenses. Safe groups and leaders will tell you more than you want to know.
A safe group/leader is often democratic, sharing decision making and encouraging accountability and oversight.
A safe group/leader may have disgruntled former followers, but will not vilify, excommunicate and forbid others from associating with them.
A safe group/leader will not have a paper trail of overwhelmingly negative records, books, articles and statements about them.
A safe group/leader will encourage family communication, community interaction and existing friendships and not feel threatened.
A safe group/leader will recognize reasonable boundaries and limitations when dealing with others.
A safe group/leader will encourage critical thinking, individual autonomy and feelings of self-esteem.
A safe group/leader will admit failings and mistakes and accept constructive criticism and advice.
A safe group/leader will not be the only source of knowledge and learning excluding everyone else, but value dialogue and the free exchange of ideas.
